Arstechnica hat einen Artikel ueber die Firma Urchin, die vor 2.5 Jahren von Google gekauft wurde. Das jetzige Google Analytics basiert auf einem Urchin Produkt, die anderen Produkte wurden wohl eingestellt, obwohl man dafuer teilweise als Kunde bis zu 10.000 USD gezahlt hatte.

Update: Google Blogoscoped erwaehnt einen interessanten Aspekt: “One other difference between the two software types as I understand it is that “Urchin on Demand” approach allows Google to collect data from websites (because the Urchin tracker “phones home”), whereas the premium, log-file-based Urchin keeps the data private within the company.”
