Finally the long-awaited search function inside p300 is released

• thanks to the hard work of Sebastian, the global search finally works! Yay!
  • Please note that the UI for the search results has only the most basic features yet. more to come.
• increased window size from 600×400 to 800×600
• hostname for unique LAN identifier generation will be kept even if it changes. This should fix some duplicate hosts in the host list.
• We now have a support webchat. Thanks to axod from mibbit!

Gestern im Breuni in Sindelfingen gesehen: Ein noch durch Holzplatten verdeckter “Re:Store” Apple-Shop. Bin mal gespannt was das genau wird, auch wenn ich persoenlich lieber bei Apple direkt online bestelle.

Hat dieser Re:Store eine Homepage? Ich habe spontan nichts gefunden.

While Sebastian is working on the core, I am currently doing the GUI part. Unfortunately, we are both very limited in time. But I hope it will only be 1 to 3 weeks for the next release.

Mit folgendem Befehl (den man in der Konsole eingibt) kann man die Pfeile zum Apple iTunes Music Store neben den Liedern entfernen:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links -bool FALSE

Gefunden hab ich diesen Befehl fuer OS X auf tuaw.com. Fuer das Windows iTunes gibt es wohl auch was.

Version 809 of p300 has just been released. It is only a small bugfix release.

Changes:

• Java WebStart should finally really work. At least let’s hope that. (bug of the last version)
• The auto updater should work again. (bug of the last version)
• Icon on send button in chat
• Allow Hamachi IPs (Starting with “5.”) per default
• Removed caption from search button in main window
• When manually adding a host for discovery, it will automatically be allowed

Waer ja auch schlimm wenn jemand die CD kopieren wuerde und die Treiber mit seiner Microsoft-Maus verwenden wuerde… ermh.. ja.

With the resource loading changes made in the recent 762 release, the auto updater of p300 is currently broken. If your p300 was auto-updated and does not start anymore, please download it manually.

Sorry for that

… but only on Linux and Windows. I suppose the problem has something to do with loading resources. I will look into that and release a fix in the next days.

In the mainwhile, download p300 instead of using Java Webstart

Update: Sebastian just reported that it works with OpenJDK 1.6.0_0-b11. So, maybe give it a try.

Finally, another release of p300. Let’s hope I have more time for p300 after my diploma thesis.

• added splash screen in Java Webstart
• the ID used for identification in LAN will now contain the encoded hostname. this makes p300 work from multiple computers using the same home directory. Currently all will show the same display name though.

Hm, ich hoere seit laengerem mal wieder einen Musik-Stream. Mit quasi keiner Verzoegerung faengt der bei mir an zu spielen. Frueher hat man doch immer eine Weile warten muessen bis ein paar Sekunden gebuffert sind. Oder sind die Streams inzwischen nicht mehr “live” sondern man kriegt gleich am Anfang fuer ein paar Sekunden in mehr-als-Echtzeit Daten damit der Buffer voll is?

Wenn ich das Netzwerkkabel rausziehe hoere ich noch ein paar Sekunden Musik. Anscheinend ist das wirklich so..

Weiss da einer genaues seit wann man das macht?

Vor ein paar Tagen war ich mit ein paar Freunden beim “Cocktail-Tasting” im Baroque in Ludwigsburg. Die Cocktail-Kneipe wurde gerade frisch von neuen Betreibern uebernommen, deswegen gab es noch keine aktuelle Karte und nichts zum Essen (ausser kostenlosem Knabberzeug). Die Kellnerin hat sich aber sichtlich um uns bemueht und das Cocktail-Probieren (5 Cocktails in Mini-Glaesern fuer 10 EUR) war auch ganz nett.

Wenn ich nicht bald umziehen wuerde, wuerde ich sicher nochmal hin.

Die Domain baroque-bar.de besteht uebrigens nur noch aus Werbung, der Laden hat momentan keine mir bekannte Homepage.

Ich weiss nicht wieso The Dark Knight so schrecklich hohe Wertungen bekommt.

Klar, der Film ist nicht schlecht. Aber etwas wirklich Neues bekommt man nicht zu sehen und irgendein Gaensehaut-Gefuehl stellt sich auch nirgends ein. Die Langatmigkeit des Films nervt auch manchmal.

Meine Wertung: 7 bis 8 (von 10). Aber eher 7. Der beste Batman-Film bleibt dann fuer mich Batman Begins.

Update: Inzwischen hab ich ihn ja 2 mal gesehen. Ich sage jetzt mal definitiv 8 von 10

Der Chrysler Grand Voyager ist ein imposantes Auto mit viel Platz. Leider hat es keine gute Fahrdynamik bei hoeheren Geschwindigkeiten, von der miesen Beschleunigung schreib ich besser erst garnichts (Hallo Donkey Kong / Super Mario Kart). Aber ansonsten ist es toll, einen so riesigen Schlitten zu fahren.

Zum Benzinverbrauch: Strecke Stuttgart-Oslo und zurueck, viel mit Tempomat gefahren, in Oslo auch viel Stadtverkehr: 13,5 Liter Diesel pro 100km.

Neben dem think-Car ist mir in Oslo ein weiteres Elektroauto aufgefallen: Der Buddy. Sah witzig aus Der Vorteil in Norwegen: Fuer Elektroautos gibt es keine Steuern, keine Maut und die oft vorhandenen Bus- und Taxi-Spuren duerfen mitbenutzt werden.
